Kyabram District Health Service engaged b3architects working in collaboration with Lesley Alway of Strategic Health Resources to design the upgrade of the hospital's CSSD to AS4187 compliance.

The project involved the live refurbishment of the existing facility while using a mobile CSSD unit parked in the hospital courtyard. The theatre list was able to proceed largely uninterrupted through the complex build.

The successful project outcome involved close and fruitful collaboration of end users, the extensive consultant team and head contractor Searle Brothers. The heavily serviced equipment requirements and mechanical systems were successfully accommodated in the retrofit of the existing building. The project scope also included refurbishment of an existing theatre staff lounge.
